Dr Matthew Siggins investigates how pathogens interact with the host to drive infection and disease, integrating experimental infection models, advanced imaging, large-scale clinical datasets, and explainable AI.

His research focuses on three areas: the impact of bacterial lymphatic dissemination on disease and immunity; how complex multivariate host responses define disease mechanisms and reveal functional biomarkers; and how lymphatic homing can be harnessed to improve vaccine responses.
