Danielle Dove is Surrey Future Fellow and a Fellow of the Institute for Sustainability at the University of Surrey. She completed her PhD in 2020 before joining the department as Lecturer in Nineteenth-Century Literature in 2021. Her research and publications centre on Victorian and Neo-Victorian literature, with a specific focus on dress and fashion history, material culture, and literary celebrity. Danielle's new research project, 'Migrant Clothes: Victorian Second-Hand Clothes Markets', examines significant contemporary issues relating to fashion, sustainability, and ethical consumption from a literary-historical perspective.


Her first monograph, Victorian Dress in Contemporary Historical Fiction: Materiality, Agency, and Narrative is out now with Bloomsbury Academic.
