Abstract

Brush model Combined slip Friction
Accurate simulation of tyre forces relies on the knowledge of the friction characteristics between the tyre and the ground surface. Integrating realistic friction characteristics into a simple brush model was shown to improve the accuracy of the longitudinal and lateral force simulation for pure slip conditions. This paper extends the capabilities of a friction-integrated brush-type tyre model to accurately simulate combined slip conditions. Simulation results are validated with experimental tyre data.
