Abstract

24-hydroxygrandifoliolenone Entandrophragma spicatum limonoids Meliaceae spicatin
The hexane extract of the timber of Entandrophtagma spicatum is shown to contain a new protolimonoid, spicatin, which has been identified as 24-hydroxygrandifoliolenone. The known entandrophragmin and a new ester closely related to bussein were also obtained.
