Offshore wind turbines have been a major and growing sector that has impacted the stability of supply and prices of electricity to the consumer as reflected in the wholesale price of electricity over the same period. The price has fluctuated, around an average of £43/MWh within two standard deviations of £16/MWh, assuring the consumer of a sustainable and affordable electricity supply. This chapter investigates the levelized cost of offshore wind power.
