Abstract
This chapter introduces several key concepts of the hierarchical yolk@shell morphology before considering the applications of these versatile encapsulated materials toward the chemical and photochemical conversion of CO
2
. The most prominent methods of synthesis for these materials will also be discussed, noting the degree of control available to each.
