Abstract
This study leverages advanced Social Media Listening (SML) tools to analyse public perceptions of ultrasound examinations, a critical diagnostic tool in healthcare settings. By employing methods such as topic modelling with Non-Negative Matrix Factorisation (NMF) as well as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), we collected and examined data from various social media platforms including X (formerly Twitter), Threads, Facebook, Reddit. Our analysis identified key themes, including delays in scheduling and poor communication, while emphasising the importance of professionalism and clear communication in improving patient trust and engagement. By examining social media posts, this study demonstrates the potential of SML to uncover insights and identify gaps in healthcare communication. These insights can contribute to optimising diagnostic practices and promote better patient-provider relationships.
