Advancing Observation and Risk Analysis for the Geostationary Earth Orbit

As the Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) is a finite, non-renewable orbital resource, the accumulation of space debris there poses an increasing risk to the future of telecommunications and Earth observation. Robust collision-risk analysis in GEO is essential both to protect operational satellites and to preserve the long-term usability of the region. My work focuses on improving observation strategies so that we can better estimate the physical properties and dynamical behaviour of objects in GEO, enhance risk forecasting, and propose alternative end-of-life disposal metrics to support GEO sustainability.
