Summarising a multi-sector Surrey stakeholder event, this report outlines key progress and future strategies for supporting young people at risk of or currently disengaged from education, employment, or training (NEET). Centring youth voice and lived experience, stakeholders highlighted recent achievements—such as the creation of a NEET Partnership Coordinator role—while addressing system fragmentation. A central recommendation is moving from deficit-based terminology toward strengths-based frameworks, such as "REET" (Reintegrating into Education, Employment or Training). Moving forward, the Surrey-wide Community of Practice will drive early intervention, improved data sharing, and service coordination to establish a preventative, non-duplicative support system.
