Abstract
Prepared by the Centre for Britain and Europe (CBE) for Surrey Community Action, this interim study offers an up-to-date analysis of how the VCSE sector has evolved since 2016, with a specific focus on Surrey. The researchers gathered data using a combination of online surveys, follow-up interviews, and comparative data analysis. Through this approach, the report charts the location, objectives, target demographics, funding structures, digital readiness (including AI adoption), and public sector partnerships of local VCSE organisations. As the first phase of a two-part investigation, it highlights the key pressures and possibilities facing Surrey's VCSE ecosystem while offering practical recommendations for the future.
