Abstract
‘Landscape Quartet’ is a team of four sound artists working on a sequence of projects with two principal aims: to investigate the creative possibilities afforded by working in direct dialogue with the natural environment; and to consider the philosophical implications arising from this, reflecting on these from a variety of disciplinary perspectives, including cognitive science, phenomenology, environmental science, aesthetics, and local history. The project develops and documents site-specific forms of creative practice, and from this provides material for fixed-media audiovisual artworks, exhibition and concert performance.
