Abstract

Causal inference Effect duration Induction period Preterm birth Target trial emulation
Recent studies discussed the impact of immortal time bias on observational analyses that assess effects of exposures during pregnancy. This type of bias can arise when the start of follow-up is not aligned with when exposure occurs and means that for exposed individuals, the outcome of interest cannot, by logical necessity, occur during their initial, unexposed period.
