Abstract
This paper explores a theme on the need for waste glass recycling and highlights its potential conversion into foamed gravel product for use as aggregate in construction. The need and requirement of waste glass recycling has been assessed and in this context UK scene has been provided. Review of published key literature looking at foamed glass gravel has been summarised. This covered current manufacturers, production process and its potential applications. Research work undertaken in this subject area has also been briefly described in this paper and practical issues associated with the use of foamed glass gravel are discussed.
