A facile vacuum-assisted vapor deposition process has been developed to control the pore size of ordered mesoporous silica materials in a stepwise manner with angstrom precision, providing an unprecedented paradigm to screen a designer hydrophobic drug nano- carrier with optimised pore diameter to maximise drug solubility.
