Abstract
Macroscopic ductile rupture prediction in materials always has been great interest in the investigation of rupture. Numerical simulations with finite element codes allow investigating rupture prediction in real scale model. This paper is focused on discussion of procedure for prediction of the rupture in tensile test for a typical SS 304 Stainless Steel sheet. For this procedure, experimentation of tensile test with the conventional Universal Testing Machine (UTM) and Digital Correlation Devices (DIC) are needed to be used. The data obtained from experimentation is used for determining Young's modulus (E), Rp0.2% and Rm These data further used for simulation upto rupture. The output result obtained from simulation is used in macroscopic ductile fracture criteria which gives damage value to predict onset rupture.
