Abstract
Details the interpretation of aerial photographs for site investigations in civil engineering. Photographic parameters affecting interpretation include the geometry of the image, emulsion and filter combinations, scale, image medium, time of day and season of photography. Interpretations include methods of viewing and principles of image interpretation; recognition techniques, texture, pattern, shape, and ground characteristics. General procedures are discussed with examples of interpretation for geotechnical purposes.-after Author
