Abstract
Synthesis, structural characterization and magnetotransport properties of Co-Ag/Ag multilayered nanowires were studied. Nanowires were fabricated by pulse plating deposition from a chloride-based electrolyte into polycarbonate membranes. Fully continuous superlattice nanowires with fcc-Ag and hcp-Co structure were obtained. Co-Ag/Ag nanowires showing different magnetotransport properties (from anisotropic (AMR) to giant magnetoresistance (GMR)) were obtained by controlling the electrodeposition process. Theoretical analysis allowed quantifying the superparamagnetic and ferromagnetic contributions to the total magnetoresistance. © 2013 Elsevier B.V.
