Abstract

Animals Circadian Clocks Circadian Rhythm - physiology Humans Light Photoperiod
Regular 24-hour light-dark cycles are essential for biological time-keeping and the temporal organisation of our brains and bodies. However, access to electricity enables humans to turn lights on as they please, with disruptive effects. A new study in a day-active rodent provides further insight into these effects and raises new questions.
