Abstract

schools religion diversity

This study explores how religion, national identity, and ideas of citizenship intersect within primary schools in England, Scotland, and Wales. It considers what role religion plays in schools and what ideas schools drew on when thinking about developing pupils as ‘good citizens’. This will help inform our understanding of how children form a sense of belonging to different groups, places, and wider society.
