Abstract

The Thesis describes the design of a small, portable computer for on-line system identification. The machine generates its own test sequence, monitors, averages and data logs a system's response. On a further command it computes the Cross-correlation Function and displays it on a CRT. Under favourable conditions a valid identification may be obtained in approximately 3 sequence periods. Typical results are given for ideal and real systems.
