Abstract
This section comprises five selected essays, intended to reflect the depth and breadth of work covered over the three year course. The essays are presented in the order in which they were completed, in order to demonstrate how my academic skills and interests have developed during training. There are four essays from the four core client groups studied during the first and second years of training, and one essay on a specialist topic from the third year. These essays critically examine the theory and practice of a range of psychological approaches to human difficulties throughout the life span, with reference to wider social, cultural, ethical and epistemological issues.
