Abstract
This dataset contains results from a series of urban dispersion experiments performed in the EnFlo Wind Tunnel at the University of Surrey as part of the MODISAFE project. This work examined dispersion effects from non-passive emission sources (both heavier- and lighter-than-air) located within an urban boundary layer, generating a dataset that can be used to validate a range of dispersion modelling techniques at the neighbourhood scale. Ground level, buoyant releases were performed within a ∼ 1:300 model of Oslo city centre. Pointwise simultaneous velocity and
concentration measurements were taken via a synchronised 3D laser-Doppler anemometer and fast-response flame ionisation detector, which enabled the calculation of turbulent mass fluxes as well as the characterisation of both wind and concentration fields. The accompanying report provides a high-level overview of the experiments, with description of instrumentation, model setup, scaling and measurement grids followed by a brief discussion of results. Results are provided in .xlsx format.
