The Terminal at High Speed for European Stock Exchange USers (THESEUS) is a European research project. THESEUS with its multimedia communications capabilities enables brokers to trade not only with their national stock exchange but also with all the European stock exchanges. This will make secure trading in the stock exchanges more effective through Europe. This paper presents an overview of the THESEUS system design and architecture and the terrestrial, satellite and security field demonstrations.
