Abstract
This paper experimentally investigates the angular spread due to the propagation through the foliage. Assuming von Mises angular spectrum under Rayleigh fading condition, the theoretical coherence distance is related to the measured coherence distance to estimate the spread parameter. For the propagation range of about 100 m, the average angular spread was found to be about 25 degree within the frequency range of 450 MHz to 3.35 GHz, and the base station antenna height within 5 m to 15 m, and no significant impact of these parameters was found. © 2011 EurAAP.
