Abstract
This chapter provides an overview of the Handbook section on ‘Student Mobilities’. It first discusses the concept of ‘mobilities’ and how it relates to students and education. It then briefly introduces each of the following five chapters before drawing out three overarching themes of the Handbook section: the inherently political nature of much of the activity explored in the various chapters; the challenges to traditional understandings of (mobile) young people; and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
