Abstract
In musicological interpretation research, software-supported methods for the analysis of media-stored performances are becoming increasingly important. In particular, the measurement and (statistical) evaluation of aspects such as shape comprehension, time organization and sound gestures, for example with the help of the SonicVisualiser, as well as the management of data sets and repositories are coming into focus. The volume presents methodological prerequisites and substantive applications of these approaches in a series of case studies. At the same time, the limits of different approaches are reflected and desiderata for future research are named. The anthology presents the results of an (online) conference and a workshop from 2021. The authors examine the topic from different perspectives: starting with fundamental questions in dealing with digitized sound documents and discology, to technical questions of measuring musical design devices, to statistical processing, whereby a concluding part will also provide an insight into the individual work steps and analysis problems.
